7 best ways to remove smoke smell from your clothes after campfire or barbecue

After spending a couple of hours near bonfire or barbecue, your clothes catches unwanted odor of smoke and makes your clothes stinks. Some smoke odor won’t go easily just by laundry and over-washing might damage your clothes.

How to remove smoke smell from clothes?
1. Blow it out
Try to blow off the smoke from your clothes by using dryer or electric fan.
If smoke is deeply penetrated in fibre, simply blowing would not be the permanent solution. You need to try other methods.
2. Spray deodorant
Use an anti odor spray that is safe for fibre.
Be careful not to use spray containing fragrance as it might get mix with smoke odor and worsen the smell. Avoid deodorant spray that overcomes the odor with odor.

7. Soak and wash with a neutral citrus detergent
This method is very effective on removing oily smell. The surfactant contained on the neutral detergent makes it easier for oil and water to mix. Soaking clothes on warm water using neutral detergent helps to remove oil from clothes.
Result will be more satisfying if that neutral detergent contains citrus ingredients in it. Citrus fruits contain limonene that is more effective on removing oil.
Soak it for 1 to 2 hours and wash it as usual in washing maching.
